Historical note: In Pinot’s family this is the brother of the three with
white grape. Its origins are ancient, dating back to
Roman Age as cultivation. Highly distributed in France
and Northern Italy, today it is grown in Puglia region,
too. It is also known as White Burgundy and as
Weissburgunder in Germany.

Features: With a quite high Alcoholic content and an average fixed
acidity, it shows an elegant body and a delightful straw
yellow colour with some greenish tints when new, and
golden ones when aged. Its bouquet is delicate and soft,
with scent of flowers and fruits as vinified, then
taking the hint of crust of bread just out of the oven
and finally turning to the fragrances of mugweed and
almond-blossom when aged.To be preferably served with:
as appetizer wine, it is fit with the whole range of
light hors d’oeuvres, thick or thin soups, dishes based
on eggs or fish. To be served cool at 10-12 °C.
